Francesca Albanese and the Islamization of the United Nations

2. november 2025 - International - af Aia Fog

The UN’s Special Rapporteur for Palestine has become a symbol of how Islamic interests and their Western enablers have turned the human rights system into a political weapon against Israel – and against the West itself.

Few developments illustrate the moral decay of the United Nations Human Rights Council as clearly as the case of Francesca Albanese. The Italian jurist, who since 2022 has served as the UN’s Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, is officially tasked with upholding neutrality and objectivity. In reality, she has turned her mandate into a megaphone for anti-Israeli and antisemitic propaganda.

Albanese has claimed that “America is subjugated by the Jewish lobby” and that Europe is crippled by “guilt over the Holocaust.” She defends the slogan “From the river to the sea,” which in practice means the annihilation of Israel, and in her 2024 report she accused Israel of committing “genocide.”

Despite this record, she remains in office – even extended in her mandate – while France, Germany, the United States, and Israel have all declared her unfit for the role. The United States has personally sanctioned her. France and Germany have, for the first time in UN history, condemned a rapporteur for antisemitism, and Israel has banned her entry. Yet the UN bureaucracy continues to protect her as though nothing had happened.

How can that be? Because the UN system has long been infiltrated by a coordinated Islamic bloc, which systematically uses the language of human rights as a political weapon against the West and against Israel.

The Long Arm of the OIC

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) – with its 57 member states – operates as a cohesive voting bloc within the Human Rights Council. For years it has sought to define “Islamophobia” as a human rights violation – not to protect believers, but to criminalize criticism of Islam and restrict free speech.

Within this ideological framework, Albanese fits perfectly. Her reports adopt OIC’s narrative: Israel is portrayed as a colonial aggressor, while Islamic movements are cast as victims of Western oppression. When she labels Israel’s defensive war against Hamas a “genocide” but fails to mention Hamas’ massacres, hostage-takings and executions, it is not a matter of legal error but of ideological alignment.

The Islamic–Leftist Axis

This infiltration could never have succeeded without the backing of the Western Left, still trapped in its outdated anti-imperialist reflexes. For decades, left-wing academics and activists have mistaken any opponent of the West for a freedom fighter. As a result, Islamist authoritarians and progressive idealists now march under the same banner, united by their hostility toward Israel and the liberal democracies that defend it.

This unholy alliance of Islamic identity politics and Western guilt has turned the Human Rights Council into a grotesque parody of its original mission – a stage where the world’s worst dictatorships sit in judgment over the only democracy in the Middle East. Francesca Albanese is not an anomaly within that system; she is its perfect representative.

A System Without Credibility

That Albanese remains in office despite formal condemnations and sanctions says everything about the corruption of the UN system. The organization that once claimed to defend universal values now protects political agendas disguised as morality. The problem is not merely Albanese’s bias or bigotry – it is the institutional structure that rewards it.

When Islamism Moves In

Francesca Albanese is not a lone aberration. She is the symptom of a deeper pathology: the gradual Islamization of international institutions through bureaucratic infiltration and Western moral surrender. The OIC has spent decades reframing human rights – from individual freedoms to “collective religious rights” – and today, that effort has borne fruit.

The result is a United Nations that condemns Israel for defending itself, while staying silent about Hamas, the Taliban, and Iran. A UN that appoints antisemites as human rights experts. A UN that, in its blind crusade against the West, has forgotten the meaning of freedom itself.
