George Orwell

International Conference: The Danish Muhammad cartoon crisis in retrospect

Dato: Lørdag 26. september 2015

Tid: Time: 13:00 - approx. 16:30

Sted: Location: Landstingssalen at The Danish Parlament, Copenhagen

Entré: Entrance fee: 100 DKK (15 dollars), members of The Danish Free Press Society only 75 DKK.

The Danish Free Press Society marks the 10 year anniversary of the publishing of the Mohammed cartoons with four international champions of freedom of expression

In English:

They are among the most eloquent and staunch defenders of free speech and come from England, USA, Germany and Denmark.

The Danish Free Press Society gives you the opportunity to meet and hear them in one afternoon:

Douglas Murray: British writer, journalist and commentator and Associate Director of The Henry Jackson Society

Mark Steyn: Canadian-born American writer and commentator

Henryk Broder: German journalist, writer and commentator

Vebjørn Selbekk, Norwegian editor. In 2006 he became the symbol of the Norwegian part of the international cartoon crises when he reprinted the Jyllands-Posten cartoons.

The conference is organized with the support of The Danish Ministry of Culture and Danmarksfonden.

NB: Due to the general situation of the newspapers, Jyllands-Posten and Politiken on occasion of the ten year anniversary of the Muhammad cartoons Flemming Rose has had to cancel (among other events) his participation in this conference.
