Freedom of speech is under pressure and needs your support.

Terror against the free word has hit European capitals, including Copenhagen. Nationally and globally, writers, artists and politicians are threatened on their life - or sued and dragged into court for expressing certain views. Fear, self-censorship and legislation is undermining our most important freedom: freedom of speech.

Trykkefrihedsselskabet (Free Press Society) is Denmark's largest organization in defense of free speech, and we work diligently to resist this pressure. Support our work to maintain freedom of speech by signing up now. Without freedom of speech, no free society.

A frequently asked question: Should you be a writer or do you need to be "approved" to become a member? No, absolutely not, nothing is required but your support of freedom of speech. The association consists of people from a broad political spectrum.  It is peopled by men and women from all walks of life.  We represent no specific ideologies or religious beliefs. Here, Christians, Buddhists and atheists, civil engineers, school teachers, politicians, journalists and students meet in common purpose. What brings us together is the desire for freedom and the struggle for freedom of speech.

An ordinary contingent is DKK 400 per year (spouses or cohabitants can share a membership).

Pensioners, pensioners and students pay DKK 200 a year.
