Wafa Sultan (born 1958 in Syria) is a psychiatrist and author, who emigrated to the US in 1989.
A frequent writer on Islamic affairs she gained world-wide recognition after her appearance on al-Jazeera, February 21, 2006, where she stated that we are now witnessing "a battle between modernity and barbarism which Islam will lose”.
